Day 09- Any injuries that occurred from riding
Lucky for me I haven’t recieed many injuries from riding. There was my badly bruised elbow from my first ever fall. But other than that its just been very little! There was the time a horse I was riding out west smashed me into a mailbox when I wasn’t paying attention to where I was going. My knee swelled up pretty big afterwards but it wasn’t anything too serious. I’ve been very lucky when it comes to riding. Being a safety nut and a chicken probably has something to do with it.
Around horses I seem to get injured on the ground. Like the time Piney smashed me into the trailer door and I got my scalp stapled back together along with my concusion. And then there was the time he kicked my thigh. Thank gosh he got me in a meaty part! A bit lower he would have blown my knee out and a bit higher and my hip would have been shot. Both of those injuries were a result of not paying attention, and a wrong place wrong time deal. I’ve been lucky…lets see how long I can keep being lucky!
I think the fact that you realize that you weren't paying attention when these mishaps took place is a big plus! :-)
