Ugh...

I wish someone would come to my barn and wash all of Piney's blankets, coolers and sheets. I was in my barn tonight trying to decide what I can let go in order to buy a new saddle, when I opened up a tote filled with Piney's cooler and a sheet. The smell of him hit me like a freight train, and I couldn't stop the tears. It stings just a bad now as it did a few months ago. I clung to that dirty old fleece cooler and just inhaled it. I miss him.

On a side note this tack ho can't let go of any of the tack she's hoarded over the years...I have a problem and apparently need 46 English saddle pads...

    1. 12 is still a lot. Which is fantastic! Means you're a normal horse woman lol.

  4. I have an idea how you felt when you opened that tote. I recently pulled out an old barn jacket and as I was putting it on noticed a bunch of white hairs in the zipper flap. I knew right away they belonged to my first mare, my original heart horse. Lost her so many years ago but the feelings remain. I think the hairs will have to stay in the zipper flap.

And seriously, 46 English saddle pads?! And I thought I was a tack hoarder! You win!

    1. I have a curry that would do more good in grooming tote, but it is filled with yellow hairs from my Palamino. So I keep it in a box in my basement instead.

And I don't actually have 46 LOL, But I do have more than I could ever need...I have a problem...

  5. I've been gone for awhile (busy with work during the holidays). I'd really hoped when I came back, you'd have a horse.

    I think of you often!

    Best wishes,
    Renee
